New Years' Resolutions?

I always hesitate to make resolutions.  They're never fulfilled and they always seem to deal in verbatims.  "I must do this, I can't do that" I have a hard time putting any kind of restrictions on myself.  However, this year I've put some thought into the coming of a new year and my transformation from awkward teenager into happy adult over the last few years and have made two resolutions.  These aren't for the year and certainly aren't the only resolution that I'll want to have this year, but they're good things for me to keep in mind as I start this new year.

First, I want to work on smiling more.  My face is very animated, but somehow my "resting" facial expression is a frown.  I'm not a sad person.  I want my natural disposition when I'm walking about to reflect that I'm happy.

Second, I want to wear heels more.  Currently, my goal is to wear them all day one day a week.  I have an enormous number of heels for the amount that I wear them.  What's the point in having shoes you only wear once or twice a year?  My habit prior to January was pretty much just to wear heels when I was going to get good and drunk.  I have a secret to tell you, though:  that is a DUMB plan.  The reasoning behind it is sound:  when I'm drunk I can't feel the pain as much.  But, if you're wearing heels you totter in when you're sober, the drunk imbalance will just make you fall over more.  Besides, as sexy as heels are at the bar, it shows way more confidence to wear them on campus.  And all that walking will prep you for your next bar crawl!

That's it.  Two goals.  One year.  I'm pretty confident in these.

Fendi RTW Spring 09

Ah, Fendi, the brand I didn't know I loved.  This collection isn't anything mind-blowing, though the knee-length hemlines are a refreshing look.  I can't tell you how many times I've looked at runway shows and thought "I would totally wear that if it wasn't going to show my lady parts..."  I will admit, that by the time the show was through, I was hating on the belts so hard I almost didn't feature Fendi on here.  But then I looked over the images again and saw that what's underneath the belts is beautiful and feminine, something I think we really need to embrace in this hard economic climate.  I always feel better when I'm dressed in a way that shows off, rather than combats, my feminine features.  Plus spring is the perfect time to bust out the laser-cut lace, white fluttery fabrics and sheer underpinnings.  The season almost begs for it.
