Jacket, Torrid; top, Old Navy; pants, Torrid; shoes, Classified
Oh, the pouf. Back in college, my three best girlfriends and I all wore our hair puffed up a little in the front and called it a pouf. It's really a riff on the pompadour style that's popular in the rockabilly/retro revival scene. That's what I was going for today, and when I went to visit my grandparents, my grandpa said I looked like Rosie the Riveter! Then my dad said he was pretty sure he had a photo of my grandma (on his side, I was visiting my maternal grandparents) with her hair styled very much the same way. What a massive compliment! I adored my paternal grandma! (And continue to adore my maternal one, of course.)
Bonus for today, as I was talking about how I'm pretty cyclical with my style. Check this out:
Hair, from the top, 3 years ago, 2 years ago and a year ago. All styles I've featured in this blog in the last year. Also, why am I always in pictures with other people, not alone?

Outfit, Torrid; tights, GNW; shoes, Classified
Swing...and a miss. Another work/school outfit. I love this skirt, but have yet to find a way to wear it that isn't 15-year-old-oing-to-the-mall-like. Suggestions?

Shirt, Old Navy; skirt, Old Navy; tights, GNW; shoes, Classified
The cold finally broke today and it started dumping rain. I was less than thrilled about that, as you could imagine. I'm finding that there's a reason why I shouldn't buy pajama tops and wear them as shirts--I'm just not a fan of this top anymore.
Today, I hit a massive road block on my way to fashion design school. PSU and UO won't release my grades to Ai, so it'll be a while before I can be admitted. Therefore I can't take classes. Major bummer. But it is making me slow down and focus on whether I want to go the Ai route or if I want to move away for school. An odd thing to be considering after college.

Shirt, Faith 21; pants, Tripp; shoes, Classified
I wore this to my first day at the new office. Still love this shirt, it flows very nicely.
The shoes I bought for Megan's wedding. Unlike my Alfanis, I didn't wear them for the ceremony (obviously, because you can only wear one pair of shoes at a time), but I did for the rehursal. Much fun.

I was really resistant to the idea of wearing these shoes today. They're my absolute favorite flats and they're leather, so they're a little more resistant to Portland's famous rain. But, given that it's going to rain today and I'm going to First Thursday (an event that involves a lot of walking), these really are the right shoes for the situation. It just means that I don't get to wear these shoes for another month! Very disappointing.
My sparrow pin is beaded. I finally finished it earlier this week after working on it (clearly not very seriously) for well over a month. I'm pretty fond of it.
I bet y'all are tired of photos in that corner. It's just so damn convenient, I can leave my tripod set up there, which really streamlines the process of getting ready in the morning (if you assume that part of getting ready is taking a photo for the blog. Maybe this weekend, I'll take some more interesting photos.
